Dear Old-Time Music Lover:
Few people have contributed as much to old-time music as Patty Looman. Through her mentoring, playing, and teaching, and by setting an example of the spirit of the music and its joys, Patty influenced the lives of many students within and outside West Virginia. We thought that an old-time music festival be held in her honor and to thank her for her unselfish giving, and PATTYFEST was born in 2002. With Patty’s passing in 2012, PATTYFEST is now held to honor her memory. And so we will meet for a day of music. Thanks, Patty, for the happiness you brought to our lives through your music.
